The first dive computer we simulated was my old Prodigy that I bought when I got certified in 1999. No fancy features, no Nitrox, no PC log.
The latest crop of dive computers we are working on are just the opposite: integrated compass, color display, Trimix, CCR, extensive logs.
Is technology catching up with the Scuba Industry? Is every diver becoming a Tech diver?
What I know for sure is that our simulators are getting more and more complex as they need to accomodate ever increasing requirements. Last one I got? Add more stage tanks to eDiving .... apparently 3 tanks are not enough :-)
What do You think? How many tanks do you need for your virtual dives? And for the real ones?
Sincerely,
Alberto Mantovani (aka eDiver)

divePAL Tech
A different way to plan OC Trimix dives
|
Yes, I know .... there are already few "serious" dive planners out there. Why another one?
Because .... this one is different! It is different because you can use it in conjunction with eDiving: execute a Trimix OC virtual dive - with multiple tanks - and then analyze it on divePAL Tech. It is different because you can customize it with real Tech dive computers and see them in action during Tech dives (so far we have 2: Shearwater Predator and Suunto HelO2, but more are on our way) It is different because you can create a multilevel dive - instead of a basic flat one. It is different because it has an integrated log-book and you can use it to share your dives with your friends - or not. It is different because ..... it looks so cool :-) More info on divePAL Tech are on our forumLet me know if you would like to beta test divePAL Tech.

Introduction to Nitrox
Best selling online class
|
This is our best selling class. Period. Despite the fact that this class does NOT include a "Nitrox Card", we have multiple students signing up every day. We know that this class is quite good and the price is hard to beat. A fine example of affordable and quality education. Now ..... if we could get "a Card" going along with this :-)

Your Voice

Last week I got this nice note from bigdaddywing and I thought it was a good idea to share it with all of you. "Thank you for the excellent job you have done creating your online class for the Oceanic VT3 (a cousin of the Aeris Elite T3)... My "older" eyes were having a difficult time with the manual and the waterproof card included with my computer, so your class really helped me to understand the basic workings of my new DC.After taking the online class and reading the manual through online as well I made a dive yesterday using my new DC and was able to go through pre-dive mode, dive mode and post-dive mode flawlessly. Thanks again for making my new DC easy to understand and operate..!Sincerely,BigDaddyWing Colorado, USA"We really appreciate it when we receive notes like this. Please, send more :-)
